Vignobles et Vins Picard takes its source from the desire to offer a collection of exceptional wines, bringing together the cuvées of the following wineries: Maison Foucher in Sancerre, Famille Picard in Chassagne-Montrachet, J.Denuzière in Condrieu and St Patrice in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The young, dynamic and passionate sales team is walking alongside the family and its wine-writers to cheer with you!

Michel, Liliane, Gabriel, Francine

From the Loire to the Rhône, two major French rivers flow through three emblematic and unique wine regions: Burgundy, the Loire Valley, the Northern and the Southern Rhône. The Picard family originally from Burgundy, at the heart of the vineyard, owns and grows vines throughout 140 hectares. Their interest in those exceptional terroirs was guided by the running streams.

The family is passionate about wines made with emotion and love and surrounded itself with three figures. Along with Francine, maestra of the Burgundy estates and keeper of the shared values, they have given their full trust into Marc, Caroline et Samuel. Each is deeply rooted in their own wine-growing region and aims to illuminate the wines and appellations of their area.

Chassagne-Montrachet

« My goal is to obtain highly precise plot-specific wines at the same time as working towards protecting our environment and our raw material : the vine. »

Maison Foucher

Sancerre

«Through our cuvées, we want to establish the style we value : the one of distinguished and sharp wines that tell the story of their terroir, straight and pure, finesse and elegance are always preferred to opulence and exuberance.»

Marc Vappereau

« A travers nos cuvées, nous voulons affirmer le style que nous apprécions, celui de vins racés, pointus, exprimant leur terroir, droits et francs, la finesse et l’élégance étant toujours préférées à l’opulence et à l’exubérance. »

Marc Vappereau

J.Denuzière

Condrieu

« The magic of wine is to be challenged every day with choices that are driven by our sensitivity and intuition. What I love about the Life from the vineyards through the cellar and the bottle, is its unique and uncertain side : what I call the soul of the wine. »

Caroline Moro

« La magie du vin, c’est d’être confronté tous les jours à des choix qui sont animés par notre sensibilité, notre intuition. J’aime dans le vivant ce côté unique et incertain : c’est ce que j’appelle l’âme du vin. »

Caroline Moro

St Patrice

Châteauneuf-du-Pape

« I tasted the wines in 2014 and was instantly won over. For me, the St Patrice wines bring together all the best qualities that the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation has to offer: finesse, balance, strength, and minerality. »

Samuel Montgermont

« En 2014 , lorsque je déguste les vins St Patrice, je suis immédiatement séduit , les vins présentant tout ce que l’appellation Châteauneuf-du - Pape peut offrir de meilleur : finesse , équilibre, puissance et minéralité. »

Samuel Montgermont

I am totally committed to a viticulture that is smart, considered, honest, healthy and forward-looking, that is inspired by the important agriculturists of the past and is orchestrated by a team of committed men and women. Excellence is the single driving force pushing us out of our comfort zones; it prevents us from being too certain and, every day, encourages us to think differently. Climate change has been proven and as a consequence every seemingly, simple action has become food for thought.

As manager of the Famille Picard's family estates since 2007, I have had my heart set on massively restructuring our vineyard, which comprises 140 hectares of vines. Today, the whole of the estate is managed in line with organic viticulture, with 30 hectares managed biodynamically.

Maison Foucher was established in 1921 at the heart of the Centre Loire vineyard, between Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre, by the dynamic Paulin Lebrun. Originally a cooper, he started growing his business by selling wine in his own barrels to local cafés and restaurants.

Over the past century, only five winemakers have been at the head of Maison Foucher. Their common desire was to pass on their values and passion. Today, this strong legacy is embedded in the wines of Maison Foucher and is represented by the current director Marc Vappereau.

Marc is inspired by his desire to discover new gems, new plots, new lieux-dits.  His heart leads his decision to select specific cuvées. He has no set criteria. His compass: his emotions.

Most of the wines are organic or certified ‘High Environmental Value’. He is fully invested in a sustainable approach to viticulture as a way to respect both people and the environment

Originally from Burgundy, she joined the winery in 2014. Meticulous and passionate, she described herself as a “Cartesian”. Yet, she has learned over the years, through her travels in the French and European vineyards to detach herself from her scientific mind to finally trust her intuition.

She loves wandering through the vineyard and the terroirs to discover them. Once she truly understands them she begins to imagine the wines that will come into being.

In the cellar she uses her artisanal technique aiming at minimum intervention and always driven by the current vintage. Caroline reveals the beauty of the Northern Rhône Valley by handcrafting wines with freshness and elegance.

She embodies the J.Denuzière spirit to perfection.

The origin of the name St Patrice dates back to the 18th century under Jean De Power, ambassador of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines in Ireland.

The centuries have shaped the plots of Domaine St Patrice, especially its Clos. The exceptional work of the Julian family together with Samuel Montgermont has resulted in the creation of true art pieces.

Samuel tasted the wines in 2014 and was instantly won over. For him, the Saint Patrice wines bring together all the best qualities that the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation has to offer: finesse, balance, strength, and minerality.
