AU PIED DU MONT CHAUVE
A "haute couture" selection
But what is the origin of this curious name?
Au Pied du Mont Chauve was founded in the late 2000s: the Picard family owned vineyards historically established in the Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, and Puligny-Montrachet appellations. It was therefore quite natural that the name Au Pied du Mont Chauve came to Francine Picard, as it is the nickname given to the hill of the famous Montrachet vineyard.
Boasting an exceptionally rich collection of vineyard plots across these three outstanding wine-growing villages, Au Pied du Mont Chauve offers no fewer than twenty prestigious climats, including Les Demoiselles, Les Caillerets, and En Remilly. Driven by a desire for synergy between the terroir and the resulting wine, the vines have been cultivated biodynamically for many years, and winemaking is as natural as possible. Refined, delicate, and expressive, the wines of Au Pied du Mont Chauve are true gems of precision, their perfectly controlled aging revealing on the palate a density that is both refreshing and exceptionally elegant.
